National Diabetes Week 13-19 July

National Diabetes Week 13-19 July

July 03, 2025

What’s On? This year, Diabetes Australia is sharing a powerful message: Let’s work towards a future where diabetes causes no harm.

Here in Western Sydney, we’re getting involved. Western Sydney Diabetes was proud to team up with Westpoint Shopping Centre, Blacktown, for the Westpoint Wellness Expo from 2-5 July. Hundreds of people are checking their health with us to see if they are at risk of type 2 diabetes.

At the Expo we offer:
› Free HbA1c blood test – to check average blood sugar over the past 3 months
› Helpful health info and tips to take home

Didn’t make it to the Expo?
Visit your GP. They can check your risk and may recommend the same test. Click here to find a GP near you.

You may benefit from a test if you:
∼ Have diabetes in your family
∼ Don’t move much or sit a lot
∼ Are above a healthy weight
∼ Had diabetes during a pregnancy
∼ Are from a Pacific Island, Indian, Asian, African, Aboriginal, or Torres Strait Islander background
