Carrot Bliss Balls Recipe

There are lots of “healthy” snacks in shops, but not all of them are as good as they seem. Some have hidden sugar, fat or other ingredients that don’t support your health goals.

A great way to take control is to make your own snacks at home. These Carrot Bliss Balls are a perfect choice – tasty, simple, and full of goodness.

Why these are a smart snack:

  • Low GI – gives you energy that lasts
  • Oats – support a healthy heart
  • Naturally sweetened with dates and cinnamon – no hidden sugars
  • Not full of extra fats or fake ingredients

You can make them ahead of time and keep them in the fridge – ready for when you’re hungry between meals or want a healthy bite on the go!

Ingredients (for 20 bliss balls)

  • 1 large carrot
  • 1 cup dates
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup rolled oats

It’s this easy

  • Place dates into a bowl of boiling water and cover for 5 minutes to soften the dates, then drain
  • Grate the carrot
  • Place all ingredients into a food processor, or bowl attachment of a stick blender, and blend until well combined
  • Place the mixture into the fridge for 10 minutes before rolling into balls
  • To make the balls, take 1 tablespoon of the mixture and roll it in the palms of your hands to form a ball
  • Chill in the fridge or freezer before eating (and to store them so they keep for longer)

Tweaks

  • If the mixture is too dry add 1 or 2 tsp of water
  • Roll in extra shredded coconut to coat the bliss balls
