Heart Week (4–10 May)

May 04, 2026

Did you know it’s Heart Week?

This week is a great reminder to take care of your heart and check in on your health.

Why it matters
If you have pre-diabetes or diabetes, your heart can be at higher risk.
But the good news is – there’s a lot you can do to protect your heart, and small steps really add up.

Simple ways to care for your heart
  • Keep your blood sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol in a healthy range
  • Eat more healthy foods like veggies, fruit and whole grains
  • Move your body every day – even a short walk helps
  • Work towards a healthy weight, 2kg at a time!
  • If you smoke, cutting down or quitting can make a big difference
Need support?
